The Dollhouse: Old-Fashioned Favorite with a Twist

There are times when the weather does not cooperate and the outdoors is not the ideal place for children to play. Sometimes it is too cold or too hot and there is no other choice but to keep the kids indoors. The issue with making kids stay inside the house for too long is that they almost always develop cabin fever. This can be avoided if they are kept entertained with playroom toys which spark  their creativity and imagination. One of the classic favorites is the good old-fashioned doll house. Here are a couple of them that put a twist to the classic favorite.

One of the simplest that you can find in the market is the Ferm Living Dollhouse. Its simplicity is what makes it stand out among the complicated dollhouses of today. It is also what makes it outstanding because the simpler the toy, the more creative kids get. This 40 x 60 cm birch wood doll house has bare shelves where kids can place play furniture, tiny dolls, and whatever toy they can think of. Arranging their little treasures will keep them productively occupied for hours on end. Hang this little house on a wall and it looks like a decorative feature while keeping the kids entertained.

Another innovative dollhouse is the Magis Villa Modern Playhouse Set. The set is composed of two houses. This is so different from the usual plastic dollhouses because it is made of sturdy cardboard. This is made in Italy and comes with a set of stickers so that kids can personalize it according to their taste. Kids will have a fun time going in and out of this attractive dollhouse. With such a simple but roomy place for them to play in, there will be no limits to the creative play children can have in this adorable dollhouse.

Entertaining kids does not always require high-tech and complicated toys. In fact, children can actually benefit from simple toys because these require them to use their creativity and imagination. When playing outdoors is not a choice, keep the kids indoors and chase cabin fever away with simple but innovative toys like the classic favorite- the dollhouse!
